About the Crippled Damsel Emerger Trout Fly
A Crippled Damsel is an easy and tasty meal, trapped and unable to fly away. Trout are opportunistic predators and presenting a fly that looks like easy prey can be devastatingly effective.
Expert Tip:
A crippled insect/damsel represents an unsuccessful attempt by the mayfly nymph to emerge from its case. Some of the emergers get stuck in the surface film, others are injured, many are capsized by the wind or breeze.
