About the March Brown Spider Trout Fly
The March Brown Spider is a classic wet spider pattern that's been a staple in the fly-fishing community for decades. Its effectiveness has been demonstrated on both running water and stillwater environments, making it a versatile option for a wide range of fishing scenarios.
Imitating the hatching of March brown mayflies, its combination of a brown or ginger body and speckled hackle makes it a highly effective fly, particularly during the mayfly hatch in late spring and early summer; however this wet pattern is also favoured by many during the winter.
