About the Black Furnace Sea Trout Fly
The Black Furnace was devised as a daytime, dry fly for sea trout, however it has also proved it's worth on both rivers and still water for browns and rainbows.

Pattern Dressings
- Hook : 10-12.
- Thread : Black.
- Body : Black ostrich herl.
- Wings : Short brown fibres from the tail of an English partridge.
- Thorax : Two or three turns of black ostrich herl, between the wings and eye of the hook.
- Hackle : Palmered, long black and glossy.
The wings are tied on either side like the points of a camel-hair brush.
