What a month we have had this May! It has been exceptionally busy and many anglers have exceeded their expectations.
Dominating this month's chart, we find the Klink n Dink and Grey Wulff are clear favourites by fly fishers for two years in a row, (see last years chart).
The Klink n Dink's owes its sustained popularity to its distinctive feature, the eye in the hook that can be used as a dropper in tandem with nymphs. This technique has proven especially successful during the Mayfly season, particularly when trout are reluctant to rise for dry flies.
Equally valuable is the Grey Wulff which never fails to secure its spot in the fly boxes of experienced anglers. This classic pattern is frequently the first choice during the peak Mayfly activity of May and June.
These trending patterns offer an insightful snapshot of current conditions on the water and give a clear indication of the go-to flies used by successful anglers. Stay ahead of the game by keeping up with these trends, and here's to another month of great fishing ahead!
