The Usual is a very simple pattern, but don't let it's basic appearance fool you into thinking its a sub-standard fly.
This fly is ideal for making full use of water surface tension, making it sit just above the water, tempting anything underneath.
Expert Tip:
The Usual is an ancient pattern designed back when tying was limited to locally available materials. Traditionally this pattern was tied using rabbits fur, hence a large availability and a dominant pattern of its time. It still produces great results to this day.
