About the Olive Jingler Trout Fly
The Olive Jingler is a type of Dry Hackled fly that is highly regarded as a superb little Border dry fly. It is an ideal early season general imitation pattern that is particularly effective for trout fishing in Scotland, especially in the Tweed River.
Jingler flies are dressed to mimic the appearance of an insect that is struggling to break free from the surface film of the water. It features an olive-coloured body and hackled wing, which adds to the fly's movement and creates an enticing presentation that is sure to provoke strikes from fish.
Expert Tip:
The Olive Jingler is a versatile pattern that can be fished in a variety of ways, including with a dead drift presentation, upstream or downstream, or with a skating or skating style presentation.
